Why do you need to Read the ORIGINAL text of the Quran and the Hadith and THINK by YOURSELF first?

The Hadith:

It was narrated that al-A’mash said:
Saalim ibn ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar was sitting with al-Hajjaaj (The Khalifah) and al-Hajjaaj said to him:
“Get up and strike this person’s neck.”
Saalim picked up the sword and took hold of the man, and headed towards the gate of the palace.

Then his (Saalim) father looked at him when he was taking this man out and said:
“Is he really going to do it?”
He repeated it two or three times, and when he took him out,

Saalim said to him:
Did you pray Fajr?
He (the man) said: “Yes.”

He (Saalim) said: “Then take whichever path you want.” Then he came and threw down the sword and al-Hajjaaj said to him: “Did you strike his neck?”He said: No. He said: Why not? He said: I heard my father say: Rasulullah Sallillahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “Whoever prays Fajr is under the protection of Allaah until evening comes.”

I ask you to read the explanation of this Hadith from the most trusted Fatwa Site of today:
You will get:
Explanation of the Hadith by the Salaf,
How they understood it,
How they implemented it.
Yet you don’t get all.
You get only what they want you to understand and get from this.
That’s how you get partial Deen by relying only on the Ulema.
That’s how you are deprived of getting a total picture of your Deen in your entire life by not reading the text yourself.

Watch out and read mindfully  

And I am sure you have noticed the two things:
1. They emphasis so much on one of the aspects of the Hadith, which is, the explanation, understanding and implementation of ‘Protection’ by Allah.
2. But then, surprisingly you would notice the other aspect of the Hadith, which is, the severe warning, Fire in Jahannam, is entirely absent in the discussion.

Why is that?

Why do you deliver only sweet and forget to warn people?

Why do Ulema emphasis on one aspect and completely ignore the other aspect?
Is it because saying much about Jahannam would bar people to enter into Deen?
Is it because you don’t make people so much afraid of Deen?
Is it because you don’t make it so hard for people?
Is it because you are not allowed to say the warning much?
Is it because you only speak about the sweetness of the Deen and avoid saying unpleasant things of the Deen?
Is it about display the sweet part of the Deen and avoid the strict part of the Deen?

Why, what’s the root of this notion of the Ulema in the matters of the severity of the Deen?
What is the basis of this approach to the Deen by the Ulema?
Is it because of the Hadith, “Do not make things hard for people? Give glad tidings, do not Repel?” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari 69)

What’s the logic behind this?

Then, let’s discuss that issue.
You ‘don’t make things hard’ for who?
You give glad tidings to who?

The one who is heading to Jahannam (by not praying Fajr)? Is that what it means?
Is that how you use this Hadith?
Rather the Hadith (Do not make it Hard) should be applied for those who take some aspect of Deen (volunteer ebadah) so hard and goes beyond their capability that they can’t handle!
Rather this Hadith (Jahannam for not praying Fajr) should place straight in front of the one who doesn’t pray Fajr.

Consequence of not praying FAJR!

I never in my life heard this Hadith or the consequence of not praying Fajr.
This is what happens when you rest your knowledge and study of Deen from Ulema and not bother to study yourself.
You would never know even what concerns you or your family most by spending entire life listening or reading from Ulema unless you read the text by yourself.
Imagine the impact.
Jahannam just not praying Fajr?
Who knows it?
You see 1000 Musalli pray Jumu’ah but Only 10 at Fajr, why is that?
Isn’t this Hadith to be recited at every Jumu’a as a warning to those who only pray Jumu’a and to those who do not come to Masjid at Fajr?

And Allah knows best.
May Allah give us a proper understanding of the Deen.

Now, let’s discuss another aspect relevant to this Hadith, an example, deriving the importance,
Why you need to study Deen yourself,
Why you need to build your confidence in understanding Deen and
Why you need to be able to take your decision based on your knowledge of Deen.

And again, why do you need to read the original text yourself and THINK yourself first?

This means he (Saalim) disobeyed the order of the Ameer, the Khalifah!
See again, you need the knowledge to stand against your leader when he gives you a sinful order.

That’s how important it is for you to get knowledge of Deen,
That’s how important it is to build your confidence in understanding Deen.
