Understanding Taghut – the Father of the Mushrikun

Do you know who is a Taghut?

No! Never heard of this! Nobody teaches this.

Taghut is the father of a Mushirk! Taghut is the worst than a Mushrik.

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Rajiun!

Then how come we don’t know this? How come our Ulema never taught us this?
In my entire life of Islam, I never heard of this from any Ulema I knew!

Do you know who is a Mushrik?

Yes! Every Muslim knows it. The one does Shirk is called Mushrik.

Is worshiping Idol is Shirk?

Yes!

The one who worships an idol, what is he called?

Mushrik

Is making Sujud to a man is Shirk?

Yes!

Whoever makes a Sujud to a man, what is he called?

Mushrik

Then the one who receives the Sujud, what is he called?

I don’t know! Nobody taught me this! Never thought of this!

This is what called Taghut!
The one receives the Sujud is called Taghut.
The one who puts himself in the position of your Rabb is called Taghut
The one who claims to be equal to Allah, Al Azeez, is called Taghut!

What’s the right of Allah over you!

That I worship none except Him.

Then if you worship something else with Allah Subhanahu what is that action called?

Shirk.

And what would that make you?

A Mushrik (Aujubillah)

Then what is the one whom you worship called?

Taghut

What’s the right of Allah over you!

That I worship Him as the way He taught me to worship.

Then, if someone else tells you to worship Allah other than/against how/what Allah taught you, does he claim the equal right with Allah Ta’ala?

Yes! He claims himself equal to Allah.

And what is he called who claims himself equal to Allah Tabaraka Ta’ala!

Taghut!

Then, if you obey that Taghut, what is that action called?

Shirk.

And then what are you called when you who do that Shirk?

A Mushrik (Aujubillah)

What’s the right of Allah over you!

That I obey His commands, His Laws. That whatever He legislated as Halal I take it as Halal and whatever He legislated as Haram I take it as Haram.

Then, if someone tells you to obey a law against what Allah commanded you to obey, does he claim himself equal to Allah!

Yes! He claims himself equal to Allah!

Then if someone makes something Haram what Allah, Al-Hakeem made Halal, does He claim himself as equal to your Rabb?

Yes. He claims himself equal to my Rabb.

And what is he called then?

Taghut

And when you obey that Taghut, what is that action called?

Shirk

And then what are you called when you do that Shirk?

A Mushrik (Aujubillah)
