Bismillah! Al Hamdulillah!
Wa AsSalatu AsSalamu A’la Rasulillah
There were people when they were asked who the earth and the heavens (sky) belong to?
They said, Allah. (Sura Ankabut 29:61-63)
You will see Muslims today who say this.
There were people when they were asked “Who created you?”, “Who gives you provisions?”, “Who gives life to the dead?”
You will see Muslims today who say this.
They did tawaf around Allah’s house, they used to do Hajj
You will see Muslims today also do tawaf around the same house, do Hajj to the same house.

They were a nation (tribe) called Quraish.
They believed in Allah and worshipped Allah, but they worshipped others; they took OTHER ILAHA besides Allah, therefore, they were called MUSHRIKUN; they were not called Muslims.
Then, their RABB sent a messenger, Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam, from among themselves saying, “Believing Allah is not enough, worshipping Allah is not enough, you have to REJECT OTHER ILAHA to be a Muslim, you have to REJECT OTHER ILAHA for your belief in Allah to be accepted” So, the message was summarised in just 4 words “LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH”
And you will see people today, who believe in Allah, who worship Allah and they call themselves Muslims but they associate their belief, they associate their worship with many modern-day OTHER ILAHA in different shapes and forms.
So, what should you call these people, Muslim or MUSHRIK?
Allah knows best.
May Allah guide them, may Allah guide us.
