9:31 O ‘Muslims’, Do you know when you take ‘ULEMA’ as your RABB besides Allah?

The Ayah 9:31

“They have taken their scholars and monks as RABB besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.”

তারা তাদের পন্ডিত ও সংসার-বিরাগীদিগকে তাদের পালনকর্তারূপে গ্রহণ করেছে আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এবং মরিয়মের পুত্রকেও। অথচ তারা আদিষ্ট ছিল একমাত্র মাবুদের এবাদতের জন্য। তিনি ছাড়া কোন মাবুদ নেই, তারা তাঁর শরীক সাব্যস্ত করে, তার থেকে তিনি পবিত্র।

Tafsir Ibne Kathir on this Ayah:

Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Jarir At-Tabari recorded a Hadith via several chains of narration, from Adi bin Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, who became Christian during the time of Jahiliyyah.

Adi, who was one of the chiefs of his people (the tribe of Tai’) and whose father, Hatim At-Ta’i, was known for his generosity, went to Al-Madinah. When the people announced his arrival, Adi went to the Messenger of Allah wearing a silver cross around his neck.

The Messenger of Allah recited this Ayah;

Adi commented, “I said, `They did not worship them.”

The Prophet said,
“Yes, they did. They (rabbis and monks) prohibited the allowed for them (Christians and Jews) and allowed the prohibited, and they obeyed them. This is how they worshipped them.”

The Hadith:

‘Adi ibn Hatim reported: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while I had a crucifix of gold around my neck. The Prophet said, “O ‘Adi! Remove this idol from yourself!” I heard him reciting the verse in Surat al-Tawbah, “They have taken their priests and rabbis as RABB besides Allah.” (9:31) The Prophet said, “As for them, they did not worship them, but rather when they made something lawful for them, they considered it lawful. When they made something unlawful for them, they considered it unlawful.”

عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي عُنُقِي صَلِيبٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ يَا عَدِيُّ اطْرَحْ عَنْكَ هَذَا الْوَثَنَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ فِي سُورَةِ بَرَاءَةٌ اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَعْبُدُونَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا أَحَلُّوا لَهُمْ شَيْئًا اسْتَحَلُّوهُ وَإِذَا حَرَّمُوا عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا حَرَّمُوهُ

My Reflections:

O Muslims, now look at your situation today. See where you stand. See how did you take your respective Ulema as your Rabb too. Notice how you are living in Shirk though you are praying salat, tahajjud, observing siam, doing Hajj, giving sadaqah.

How do you have a house loan?

Your ‘Ulema’ made it halal for you by the name of ‘Islamic Finance’. If you dig the matter you will see, the process, calculations, etc what they follow is Islamic at your end (that’s how they deceive you) but the money they lend you comes from the loan they borrow from mainstream banks (whoever applicable), so indirectly they put you into the stream of Riba that Allah made Haram.

Then look at the insurance that your ‘Ulema’ made Halal for you.

They quote you many general statements from the Quran and Hadith against specific Shirk of Insurance. If you are only taking the COMPULSORY insurance where the authority forces you while that also should shake you in fear of Allah, not feeling content and must always keep looking for a way out. (May Allah help us) But not the volunteer comprehensive insurance for your car at all.

Engaging in Voting:

Then, look at the greatest Shirk you doing by obeying your Ulema who give you fatwa of ‘engaging’ in voting and democrazy by the disguise of ‘preventing greater loss’ etc.  You are actually engaging in double Shirk here. 1. By doing the actual Shirk of voting in which you endorse people who make laws against Allah’s laws  2. You are following Ulema’s fatwa on something which Allah made Haram but your Ulema made Halal.

Allah’s punishment is Near:

So, reconcile today my brother. If you really realise in your heart that Jahannam is truth then Save yourself from Jahannam. Allah forgives everything but not Shirk. You can stand before Allah with all the sins that can fill the earth but do not dare to have the slightest Shirk.

Don’t make the Scholars as your Rabb:

Don’t be reluctant or lazy my brother. shaitan is true, he wants to confirm son of Adam alaihi wa Sallam Jahannam. And think, who were Jews and Christians? They were not a different species, they were Muslims of that time but then slowly they changed Allah’s systems and followed other ILAHA and make their priests as their Rabb. They were the same human being like you do and they turned themselves from Muslim to ‘Jews’ and ‘Christians’, then what about you today? Aren’t you following your Ulema against Allah’s clear command of Halal and Haram? Who are you taking as your Rabb beside Allah subhanahu wa Ta’ala? Is Allah not your only Rabb?

I call out to Allah to guide you and guide me and guide all Muslims and make us of those who struggled for their life only because they remain in Tawheed and did not take anything or anybody besides Allah as their RABB. Ameen.
